November 5th Meeting.

General Discussion
Attendees Tom H . Rip , Jim R, Rick S, Severine, Oscar, Blanca,
Jeff, John N, Ken, Jim J, Fergie, Lee, Ed. Hopefully I did not miss anyone.

Discussion points were sent in by Jim Kerlin and Don Myles. Rich Schifreen
wrote in to thank everyone for such an enjoyable season of racing.

Post-season race discussion

Time limit on races? Should we have a fixed time for the regular course
(9.00pm for the end of the race) and at the discretion of the committee boat
for distance races? It is clear that at 9.00 pm if we decide to leave it to
the discretion of the committee boat we should ask that they pick a time to
finish the race and state it clearly at 9.00.

Reminder to keep finish lines short to help with scoring.
Should slow boats start first? General opinion. No. Per Ken Louie's is the
only race that does that. All other bay races the slower boats go first.
This allows the boats to mix more.

Can we change the starts when the wind is SE and we are in the lee of the
north shore because the wind is often light This was discussed, but give
that there is only one MYC mark and we don't want to have to set two marks.
We need to keep the start close to the shore.

Committee boats need to have a minimum of 3 people. Suggest we try and make an expert available to support the committee boat if needed.
Suggested by Rick that we re-evaluate all PHRF's this year and reconfirm the
PHRF ratings.

Rules can we send something out in spring to the fleet?
Can we run a mentor program for new members? Provide a human welcome package (mentor/support). Add a line on the entry form around requiring reading and understanding of the rules.

Suggest we send a deadline for boat sign up next year and once that is past
set a limit of 40 boats registered? Was a discussion around this.

We need people to know that there is electrical stuff that needs charging in
the equipment box. A spotlight and batteries in the megaphone. We should
clarify that at the skippers meeting.

just a MAST event. I.e. doing charity sailboat rides.
Maybe including fund raising at the pizza party.

Finances. Any outstanding bills need to be sent in so we can get a feeling
